Very fine glycolic acid (a natural substance extracted from sugar cane) is applied to the skin by the dermatologist in different concentrations (15%, 40% and 70%). Depending on the chosen concentrate and the length of exposure, there are three types of chemical peeling: surface, medium or deep. All of them have an immediate effect. The exposure to the substance first loosens the surface layer of the skin, which then begins to peel and renew itself, achieving younger and fresher appearance. The procedure is carried out by even application of the active substance to the skin of the treated area. After a few minutes of exposure, the substance is neutralized and removed. The chemical peeling treatment is usually performed in several sessions, approximately 4-6 depending on the type of skin damage.
